Owning property in Italy has been a dream of mine for many years. I wanted to find a property that was authentically Italian and, at the same time, large enough to house my family when they come to visit. When Tony showed me a 1200 square foot apartment in the hilltop village of Santa Domenica Talao, I thought to myself, “This is it. This is the one.”

At the time I was in the buying process, I was focused on the fact that the apartment has fantastic views of the mountains and national park and lots of space for family and friends. After purchasing, however, panic set in upon realization that the apartment had no plumbing, no electrical outlets, no bathroom! I thought to myself “What have I done? I’ve just purchased a ruin.”

I am so grateful for all the support I received. From buying the apartment, all the way through to the renovation, Tony was there every step of the way. I never felt like I was alone in the process. He offered countless suggestions that I never would have considered on my own. Since I didn’t have enough money to completely renovate the whole apartment, Tony suggested that I restore 4 rooms, making the space livable and functional until I could afford to do the rest. He also designed my kitchen. In keeping with the style of a 150-year old structure, he suggested that I do the kitchen in antique brick, combined with local chestnut wood cabinets and marble countertops. I now have a perfectly spacious and livable 2 bedroom apartment that has been done in traditional Italian style. When I have the money in the future, I will turn my 2 bedroom/1bath apartment into an even more spacious 3 bedroom/2 bath apartment.

The best thing about the renovation was that I never had to worry about anything. Tony got the bids, hired the workers, saw the project through to the end, and photographed the work for me as it was being done. I got to see the progress of the renovation without having to be there for the stress and mess of the project in motion.

Thanks Tony, for turning my dream of owning property in Italy into a reality!
